Formaldehyde Gas Absorbency

Formaldehyde gas is associated with both asthma and eczema, and is an allergen that causes ‘sick house syndrome’ irritation of the eyes and throat. SumiBall was found to be a highly effective filter against formaldehyde, absorbing more of the gas much more quickly than the other products tested.

Method:

The density of formaldehyde gas was measured by placing 50 ml of each sample in three separate 6.8 litre sealed containers containing formaldehyde with an initial density of 75 ppm. The samples were moistened prior to the test.
